west. The girls head for the hot, high desert land of the Sierra
Nevada – ancient hunting ground for the Native American
Indians, and home to the vast herds of untamed horses. Smitten

and Lisa are prepared to risk everything to help these magnificent
creatures stay free…

1: El Dorado
Staying with friends by Squaw lake, Kirstie and Lisa observe
their first herd of wild mustangs, led by magnificent black
stallion, El Dorado. Stories surround the powerful horse,
who is both feared and admired. Some say he Is even a little
crazy. So when the stallion vanishes and a ranch foal is
found bitten and battered, the finger of suspicition points
at El Dorado. Kirstie isn’t convinved. But can she
prove it?

2: Santa Ana
Santa Ana is a wounded yearling whose fierce mother won’t
accept human help. Kirtie turns to a l0ocal Cherokee boy,
Three Birds, who patiently tracks the wounded horse. But
just as he discovers her refuge, a rattlesnake spooks Three
Bird’s own horse and he is thrown and injured. Now
Kirstie and Lisa must tend the Cherokee boy as well as the
weak and dying Ana – but can they save them both?

3: Chiquitita
Chiquitita is a young mare taken from the wild herd to be
tamed and worked without force. The method demands amazing
patience and gentleness from Kirstie and Lisa’s friend,
Rob Raburn. But a ranch hand, Walter, secretly uses harsher
methods which soon ruins his boss’s good work. Kirstie
exposes Walter, who loses his job. But now he wants revenge
– and he’s planning to take it out on the horse…
